Steam
Steam is a platform for purchasing and downloading games, developed by Valve Software.

Most games and content purchased through Steam can be downloaded from steam caches within Australia, some of which are excluded from your download quota.

This means that iPrimus customers can download some games through steam at full speed while shaped/rate limited and without using any of their download quota, however not all games on Steam come from Australian servers, and not all Australian servers are unmetered, unfortunately we can not control where the Steam software downloads the games from.

The Ausgamers website has a usefull tool for identifying which games will download from Australian servers and which will not, which can help you decide when to download a game (i.e. you might want to use off-peak quota for large games that don't come from Australian servers)

You can also select within the steam settings which is your preferred server, and the steam software will use that server when ever it can to download games. This option is under the Downloads tab in the Steam settings, you should choose the nearest Gamespace, 3FL, Internode, EGN, or GamingSA region.

iPGN maintains an up-to-date list of the specific Steam cache IP's that are unmetered for iPrimus customers, you can use these in 3rd party programmes like Frey's Steam Filter or Steamwatch. Note that these programmes are developed by individuals as a service to the community, they have no affiliation with iPGN or iPrimus and we can offer no support for these programmes, also they will not work with games that come from servers outside Australia.
