Nintendo Gamecube - Metroid [Archive]

Well i reckon this game is worth me getting a gamecube :D, the game has l337 graphics, sounds, gameplay pitty it doesnt have multi. Maybe an expension should be made for that kind of purpose. Just me seening a video clip of the game has driven me crazy. I havent actually checked up with the release date in aust. (ill be doing that very soon).

So whats your opinion of this game ?? and will you buy a gamecube for this game ??

a) you can't do a poll...you're just a plebian...not an uber-admin..

b) yea - Metroid Prime looks unreal. Not sure how the new first person view will go, but time will tell...

as for buying a GC for it - I've already owned a gamecube, but swapped it for an X-Box instead....will be going back down the GC path later on...

this game will be very good, A class nintendo stuff, pity that retro studios are leaving after this. But eternal darkness will be better :)

I've got Metroid Fusion for the GBA @ home - that game rocks too... old school metroid, but it kicks much ass, even if it is a lot too easy (about 4hrs give or take of gameplay...I'd imagine hardcore metroid players could do it in a lot less)

Its a sick game, one of the few adult games nintendo have under their belt.
I gave up faith in nintendo after the n64. The pc and psx offered many more "Adult" games (gt1 , gt2, q2 etc) so i eventually just got a pc.

But now that nintendo arn't using the gay cartridge format any more it looks like they can get the good games and probably get a lot more market from teh adult sector.

If nintendo can create something equal to or better than gt3 a spec i'll definatly get it. Or when they release the new mario kart, whicherver is fasta :D

inten lol thats what happened to me as well(THE wait for the gcn was too long), my only light for the gcn is eternal darkness at the moment, starfox is meant to be really bad with t=its god awful battle style and enemy AI.

are you saying that nintendo is going have no chance ??? umm i dont think so it looks grim here but in other countries its a diff story look outside this country and the real big pictuce will snap to ya. AUST. gets everything slow and we always be slow.

the wait for the gcn was too long!!! plus the launch titles were very weak, only rouge leader was any good. then Super smash brothers :D :D :D, and then there is eternal darkness

I reckon nintendo might actually have a good chance in the market if they secure the older gamers and get rid of their kiddy image.

There will be more multi platform games released for teh gc now because its using dvds and porting games is easier because of the similiar hardware that the systems have.

there was the perception that the disc type used for the gamecube was a range of mini dvds although as mchash said they are mini discs 1.5 gig capacity which enables for HUGE detail on games.

There isn't only Eternal Darkness that is there to break this very bleak and weak argument that Nintendo directs its products into a "kiddy" market. But i've listed these types of games so many times that i cbf doing it again unless of course someone would like to further challenge this claim therefore i will have to MAKE you stfu...

yes there's resident evil(about 5 games in the gcn lifespan), Splinter Cell (heard rumors thats it will be on gcn), 007 Nightfire,C capcom vs SNK 2, Metroid Will be considered to be a kiddy game, but I think that it will be rated M15+ for all its gore of killing insects. Turok and Eternal Darkness, to all that didn't read arch's post.

If gc has a variety of games ranging from kids - adult etc. But having the section even out, ill surpose the gc will do very good.

Not mention that nintendo been out a way longer than most of the consoles out besdies the good old atari :D

hmm eternal darkness is a cracker game, how u use magic is wonderful. I say buy eternal darkness(cracker plot) than save for metroid it looks like those 2 will be the must buys, like what goldeneye, banjo for the 64.

Gamecube has a range of games which are directed at kids to adults...

Dont tell me games like the Resident Evils would be the ideal christmas gift for your 10 year old...

Its just that alot of the games that have done really well say on the N64 have been classed as kids games...This doesn't mean they are to be typecasted almost..

For Eg In Japan when Pokemon Gold was released it sold 100,000 copies on the first day. That is ridiculous, name any other title that has come close.

However we're talking about next generation consoles and the Gamecube has an ever increasing range of games to cater for any age bracket..

story is really good,graphics are really good, gameplay is really good :) and its fun blowing off a zombies head or chopping it off with a 1 meter long blade ;)

i like super smash brother melee. I mean more characters, better graphics and a new attack. WeeOOOWeeOO

The only bad thing about the game cube is that they designed more of a pathetic controller, i dont like how the A button is bigger and now kinda beside the small B. If only they had some kind of adjuster so that u plug your old controller into it and then be able to plug the old on into the console.

hrmm yeh xbox seems to have limted on good games o_O ..

played starfox, mario sunshine, beach spikers and mario party 4 all very good
many will underestimate mario sunshine but it is the best game besides eternal darkness on the cube in my opinion.
starfox was good for the 10 mins I played it for but I reserve my judgement on being a cracker game. Beach spikers is a bash with 2/4 ppl plus the ppl are well done as well :). and mario party 4 has the same blend as the other 3 but with better graphics nuff said.

I seen the new Zelda game I god damn hate the new look SO much a child's game now using different stlye of graphic (something bout cells). Hrmm so far it hasnt convice me to even take a good look at it. And yes im a fan of zelda had all of them and clock the zelda on n64 in about 5-6 hours :D Only if they did it like "devil may cry". Then ill be loving it :p

have u seen any movies? how he kicks up dust and how water flows is remarkable. its looks like a very good game, plus he speaks as well, adding characther to Link. its called cell shading. Nintendo wanted to take Link into a different direction they wanted to give him personallity plus making his god awful sister :/. It will be a very good game, better then eternal darkness|metroid, who know we will have to wait and see :).
