vertus maximus just told me that eb pushed the release of metroid foward to today
DAMMIT I COULD HAVE IT RIGHT NOW

mate It's awesome. Like the graphics pity the controls are a bittricky at 1st. only for liek 5 mins. But many will soil thier trousers within playing this game for 30 mins. Its that good!

ok
well i just found out that the project head is mr. myamoto.
i now have no doubts that this will be a ****en ripper of a game
for those who dont know, myamoto created Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is a popular choice for the best game ever. Not to mention a slueth of other nintendo classics from across the years.

myamoto is a livinig ledgend and tends to have at least some input on most of the in house nintendo titles these days :p
the creator of mario, zelda, metroid (not sure about donkey kong?) and all round nintendo genius :D

this & zelda are the only regrets I have about getting rid of my gc when I did (but c'mon - i netted an x-box + Halo for $125 when I did...can't argue that).... seriously thinking about getting another GC shortly tho, seeing as they are getting ultra-cheap now :)

well, so far wow
the graphics are awesome, and extremely fluid. My tv is dark, so i turned the brightness ingame up a bit, and now everything is crystal clear.
The sound, nothing overly impressive so far, havent got into any high action bits yet
the learning curve is relatively steep to be good at the game, to be fast enough. But once you get it, its the most natural thing in the world.
Did i mention goddamn, the graphics are awesome.

/me wishes I coul erase my whole memory of ever playing the game, just so I can go back and play it all through again for the 1st time :D

yer i change my stance on the sound, the music really picks up.
and vert, buy zelda: wind waker on gc. You probably already know this, but just incase others dont, they are including free ocarina of time ported to gc, as well as the Master Sword Quest, which was originally meant for the N64DD.
The master Quest follows the exact same storyline as ocarina of time, except that the dungeons are entirely remade, with different puzzles and everything. Its meant to be about twice as hard as the original, so im lookin foward to some awesomely hard puzzling stuff.

and incidently, i played the zelda demo today. that cell shading style is uber cool.

feckin hell, hard to put down.
the save points make it so that you play for hours, coz if you go back and save it, you lose your momentum
damn smarty pants who made the game

I've seen a few screenies for OoT on GC, and its also suped up abit. YUMMY! :D

lol, well considering that Metroid has been around for about um well 12 years i seriously doubt its ripping of any game that comes onto that lame ass thing that could easily be mistaken for an old VCR cause of its hideously ugly size(might aswell buy a PC and cart that around)
anyways Metroid owns anything that Xbox will ever bring out.

but if you have to compare:
metroid has a better backstory and history/mythos
better plot
waaaaaaaaay better graphics
better sound
tenser gameplay
better character design
need i go on?

dr mario is rad. up until we got a cube dr mario and tetris 2 in 1 cart was the most played game on my snes this year :p

i must get metroid, hmm maybe after i beat zelda when i get it tho ;\ then theres soul calibur 2,beach spikers oooooooh so many new good games coming out on GC :o

1. its not even classed as a fps,
2. its about exploring, they call it a first person adventure for a reason.

i played some of it at harvey norman in the city today.
it's certainly an awesome game.

i love how much you get the feel of a platformer still
i dunno what it is, but like, they somehow managed to take all the best elements from an 3d fps, and make it a completely different genre

OMFG, Locked myself into the lounge for the past night day, playing this game. If you have a cube you MUST buy this game any means how.Worst feeling was returning it to blockbuster :(.I'm having withdrawal symptoms. :(

I'm reading metroid reviews. Seriously its one of the best games, 1 of my mates returned it 2 days late. Its so damn addictive, you always wanna get that next upgrade or fight that boss which lurks around you.
Its damn good, I just got the waveblaster before I had to return it :(
