Just got it today...

The sports cam & carb on it pull 410hp @ rear wheels.

The rear wheels are 15x10's... The fronts are 15x9s

tyres are gonna be a bitch in australia, but sooooo worth it :D

hahaha thats awesome! mad power too... when ya bringing the beast back? oh yeah and get it dynoed again here... the US dynos are normally calibrated differently because of atmos pressure etc

its pretty sweet >8)

sounds as good as it looks. "sputter sputter sputter". I don't think its volume is legal here though, but ill see what I can do.

I personally think that its a little less than 410hp, but we shall see >8)

hehe good thing about cars that age... u get a slightly higher noise allowance :D in vic (maybe the whole of aus) its 94DB

if its exhaust isnt a straight pipe then u MAY be ok :)

hmm

are u able to find out for me if 94db is nationwide, or atleast, what the NSW limit is? Because, although im not too sure how loud my car is in db (I will have to find out) and I know its a logarithmic rating, but it could very well be too much... I've checked the rta website and am unable to find anything of note.

my main problem being, I'd have to replace the original exhausts most likely as afaik, they're not servicable... I really don't want to put the original cam in it any time soon as its so much hassle.

I might have to go into a radio shack and get a db meter.

db meters arent that accurate... 94DB i think maybe just VIC i got no idea where to look in NSW for the rule... mighrt ask around for u tho im sure a few guys in NSwe have been ****ed for loud exhausts... btw 94DB isnt that loud... id say ur car would be over and thats just from looking at it haha

yeah the vibrations the bass of the exhaust makes would probably turn the decibel meter haywire.

if you could ask around, it would be great. My one saving grace I read @ www.nswcorvettes.com.au is that if its original, then they can't really ask me to change much due to loss of value.

that be one thing going for me.

Pre 80's cars (i think) Get 96db @ 2000rpm and 89db on the drive by. If its a rotoy (not relevant to you but someone might want to know) its 96db @4000rpm , hard with a ported rotor.
