Who you reckon will make it into the premier league next year and who will get dropped. ??

I reckon Norwich and West Brom will get the 2 auto qualifers. And either milwall or Shieffield United will get that 3rd spot. I seriously hope they show these games on sbs as they can get pretty intense.

While Wolves, Portsmouth and Leicester will all go down. :)

Haha I like to think of it as "English Football" but yeah . . .

Leeds will make the cut as Viduka is getting back into top form, it'd be a shame if Leeds go renegated. I don't know who will come up, but at any rate, 2 of them will be out of the Premier League within 2 seasons.

premier league is a table based competition
fa cup is knock-out
they run simultaneously, and fa cup has more teams involved

ah ok..so fa cup has division 1 teams in it?

whats this about clubs loaning players to teams in other divisions?
how does that work?

I should make a thread about the complicated side of soccer, i.e. trading players, leagues, devisions, cups, etc.

Anyway the FA Cup is a knock-out tournament that involves every team listed in English soccer, so any team in the 3rd devision is able to play in it (despite how unlikely it is for them to make it past the first few rounds.) Potentially this means that a 3rd devision team can play a Premier Legue team for the cup, the Cup is just something that all clubs can compete for, despite what league they are in (as long as they are in England.)

Clubs can loan players to other clubs (in any division, or any other country for that matter) if the club they are contracted to allow them to. They are often loaned if they are not getting games in the first team, and in the hopes that playing with another team, they can get into good form, and then the club can take them back. Often the only thing that the loaned player cannot do is play against the club that he is contracted to, e.g. Arsenal loans Henry to Anston Villa on the deal that he cannot play for Villa against Arsenal.

i think that West Brom and Norwich have all but secured promotion. As a Hammers fan i would love to think that we can bounce back and qualify through the play offs. We have a chance because whilst we may not be consistant, we do have the ability to pull off a victory when needed.
Will be very interesting play-offs this year..

also sunderland have been playing pretty well recently so have milwall. Actually all teams have an equal chance i reckon, thats what makes the playoffs so good. Also didn't sunderland make the fa cup final. I haven't had a chance to keep up with the results. :s
Also I'm an Shieffield Wednesday fan so like we will win div 2 next year. Or else )@#)_@#)_#@#(@)$(@_$()@)%$(_
