Probably the lamest executive decision by channel 10 thus far (besides replacing Seinfeld reruns with more Big Brother) was to move After the Game from after the Saturday night football, to before the game (cleverly renaming it to Before the Game).
Now I don't know about the rest of you, but after a sometimes tense night of watching Saturday night AFL, I found there was nothing better than to unwind with a bit of sports comedy before going to bed. But now that the show airs before the Saturday night football, it seems to have lost its edge. Firstly, because it's on earlier the comedy is more "family". Secondly, Anthony Hudson is a terrible host. And thirdly, Lemo, that talentless hack off some radio show, who regularly appears on the panel. How not-funny is this guy? Any jokes the audience manage to scoff a pity laugh at, are usually crass and uncreative beyond belief. I mean, I don't really like Dave Hughes that much, but at least he can make me laugh occassionally. I'd wager the only reason anyone calls Lemo a "comedian", is because it's just a self-given title, not because they're trying to imply that he's funny.
And what's worse, they replace After the Game with "The Fifth Quarter". A boring wrap of the days football, hosted by a gorilla in a suit, and some chirping little prick who always sits up bolt-straight when he talks. Like that's gonna make you look any more authoritarian, dumbass. Who the hell came up with a name like "The Fifth Quarter" anyway? As far as my maths education went, there are only four quarters in a whole. Crap name, crap hosts, crap show.
End rant.
