Swans vs West Coast

As much as I hate Barry Hall and think he should be suspended, I want him to play. Otherwise I think West Coast will win too easily.

West Coast midfield is ownage. Embley, Kerr, Judd, Cousins & Fletcher.

So if Hall plays I tip Sydney. Otherwise I tip West Coast.

Errm, i know i already basicly declared West coast the winners in anotehr thread, but Adelaide are now only 15 points behind.... still 6 minutees to go....

SassyPants

Yeh, Adelaide came back with a strong last qtr. Too bad they cant convert.

I think the worrying thing is that the eagles seemed to fade out for a while in the last qtr and Sydney has been producing amazing last quarters in recent weeks.

I'd still tip West Coast though =)

nope is WC v Sydney

Sydney FTW :D

either way it will be a great game, just personally feel sydney might just have enough to get over the eagles.

But like i said its gonna be a great tough game. CANT WAIT!

either way it will be a great game

I wholeheartedly endorse this statement.

I love it cos I'm from adelaide all i've seen in the paper this week is adelaide propaganda + every tipster saying adelaide will win when I thought it could go either way but thought adelaide beating WC at subi twice in a row was unlikely.

go the weagles I think sydney has a midfield that can keep up with west coast, I think sydney natural game will mean the game will be tight. I think alot depends on the tribunal but in my honest opinion I feel o'loughlin is usualy more of a worry for WC than Hall. I'm tipping West Coast by 2-3 goals purely because I think cox will give them first use of the ball and I think our forward line works better minus lynch.

I think West Coast will win.

Having said that, if Sydney win it's probably the first nail in the coffin of the NRL. So on that basis I hope they win.
But if they play a lame flooding game on Grand Final day, I hope West Coast win by 10 goals or more.

If Sydney win, I guarantee you you're gonna see a hell of alot more school kids in NSW choosing to play aussie rules for sports instead of rugby. And that will be the start of the slow road to destruction.

not at all, I honestly think they are the better team due to the points i mentioned above. The only reason I would think against west coast is their performance away, but we've had some good games @ the G this year so i'm not too bothered.

How so? None of the big schools even offer AFL as a sport. This was the problem that was raised by Wayne Carey.

That and they havent won a flag since 1933. And the growth of the sport, yadda yadda, death to rugby :D

Meanwhile, in the NRL, the two Qld teams are in the semi-finals, and the AFL team missed the cut all together

anyway, i don't know enough about AFL to take an educated punt at the winner. But Sydney FTW! Cause we're awesome

Yeah.... the one and only queensland team finally missed the finals.... only after making the last 4 grand finals and winning 3 of them.... Yep, things are tough for the brisbane lions.....

And no, i dont think nrl is going to die. Not simply because of the afl anyway.

In other news, Beef_Taco still doesn't check his facts.

I could only find the average attenance numbers for 2004, but considering the success of the two Qld NRL teams i can only imagine that the NRL attendances have risen

In 2004...
Brisbane Lions had an average attendance of 32,000 (source (http://www.thegabba.org.au/files/pdf/MSFA_Annual_Report_2004_No_Fin.pdf))

Brisbane Broncos had an average of 28605 (source (http://www.broncos.com.au/Content/Attachment/2004AnnualReport.pdf)), while the North Queensland Cowboys had an average of over 16000(source (http://www.thegabba.org.au/files/pdf/MSFA_Annual_Report_2004_No_Fin.pdf)). Combined, Queensland averaged 44,605 in the NRL.

Btw, if we're gonna neg rep other ppl because they dont follow our team, then whats the point of the rep system? Some gutless wonder neg repped me for saying that i hate brisbane. Gee, if i neg repped ppl every time they said they hated the melbourne teams, well, i'd probably end up going over my 24 hour rep limit.

it's just another reason why the rep system is a joke.

I've never liked NRL cause I think its a bunch of meatheads constantly running into each other... stop run bang stop run bang...

like wow. then someone finally breaks through (murphy's law) and scores... and they call that a game?

AFL and Rugby flow though, and aren't full of people who say in their interviews "It was real good. I play ball with foot."

AFL has it's popularity over here, but unfortunately, it won't kill the NRL. There are too many meatheads that need a job, and the bouncer's position is already taken.

I don't really follow any sports, but AFL gives me the opportunity to watch victorians get owned at their own game.

The only games I actually get excited about are the ones where we are beating either: victorians, poms or kiwi's.

i see it differently. I don't really enjoy AFL as a sport because it seems to me to be such an ugly and unstructured game. I see it as a bunch of men running around chasing a ball from one end to another, stuggling to pick it up. Its too scrappy for my liking. Its like watching under 8's soccer.

But, In the end, we'll always prefer what we grew up following.

Okay, let me get this straight... you don't like to watch AFL because it's "ugly" and when you watch it all you see is "a bunch of men running around chasing a ball from one end to the other".

As opposed to league which is... a bunch of ugly men running into eachother until they get the ball from one end to the other.

if west coast play to their full ability they'll win, if not sydney will.

Meh. Hall was there last time Sydney played the Weagles, and he got totally shut the **** down.

But still, he draws the best backman. Without him, the eagles best back would go to O'Loughlan instead. So even if he's not kicking a bag himself, he frees up the other forwards a bit.
