View Full Version : cant connect to half-life servers =/

hey guys, ive got this peice of sh* computer that i am trying to get run counterstrike.
anyway, my prob is that when i try to get ti to connect it just keeps on retrying, and retrying, and retrying, and.... well, u get the point. but it won't connect.
the pos is:
celeron333
128mb ram
16mb banshee
(its gonna run @ the 540 res)...
any help would be useful =)

more likely to be your internet conenction / ISP / modem than your computer.
even if your computer is slow, it should re-connect eventually after a few retries once it has loaded everything. To speed it up you need to add more ram, and make sure you don't have huge config.cfg files. Deleting your custom.hpk file will help as well.
Yeh its not your comp cauz my friend had a similar one and worked fine.
So ill agree with FraggieSpice and say its your modem/connection

i disagree cause its on the same connection that i play normally on.
its just that this time, its the pc with the modem on it.
yeh but are you using a different modem ?

its the gateway machine for the network...
jesus guys, there is nothing wrong with my connection and i know this for a fact cause i can get other games to do multi, and on top of that, everything works fine.. :P
