I didn't see a great improvement on San Andreas to be honest, although obviously the video quality wouldn't have done it much justice :P

when it comes out you'll see. Alot of things are different. More realistc in every way. A 'gravity' system (euphoria engine) real reactions etc,

Aparently if you drive into a pole at high speed you'll go through the windscreen!

Vice City and San Andreas are more alike then this compaired to the previous gta's

Most Australian retailers received their shipments today, with advice that if they break the street date there'll be massive fines. I've been trying desperately to find some stupid retail kid who'll stuff up and sell it to me but not having any luck.

You're going to be waiting a long time for a full list of what was removed. Rockstar will never put it out there officially, and so that mean's you have to wait for people in both regions to play though the whole game and compare. Have fun playing this game 2 weeks after everyone else if that's what you're waiting on.

Apart from the ****ty vid quality, that makes me want to play it so badly. The way the car drives looks far better than past games.

All in all, I firmly believe 80% of this game is pure hype and it'll be the same other **** we've seen before... JUST REVAMPED.

PS3 has a GTAIV bundle. I don't think 360 has announced one.

ps3 was the best choice for me. as im not really into consoles, but cbf waiting to play gta4 on the pc, im really into hd, but didnt have a hd player yet, and since blu ray has already won.. everything pointed to ps3.

Anyway, I really, REALLY disliked San Andreas, and haven't been paying much attention to this, but I just know I'll probably wind up buying it anyway.

Actually...Might see if I can wing a review copy; that way at least I don't have to pay for it, AND I get the bonus of being massively abused by fan boys when I most likely pan it.

I'm only leaning towards the xbox because I dont want to shell out useless amounts of $$$ just to have a 'blue ray player'. Console = games.

I'd have the xbox hooked up to my 22" viewsonic anyway (grab a dvi splitter then hdmi to dvi converter and kablammo)

Media stuff is what I have a PC for and online (free or not) doesnt really concern me.

When I get my new monitor, I'm doing video through hdmi. The ps3 has a optical S/PDIF audio and rca analog audio. My pc seems to have S/PDIF out, but not in. So I either update my sound card (something that has S/PDIF in, if I want 5.1>7.1 audio) or get a rca converter (for stero sound).

Since my speakers are an extremely old 4.1 setup that I hardly use (mainly use headphones), I think ill go the cheap option and get the converter for now.

That being said, ports are always crap, and the time frame for PC releases is a joke.

The game just LOOKS ****ing amazing. I mean, the gameplay is still thoroughly GTA but I was just blown back by the look of the game. Videos do it little justice compared to how it looks on a 42" LCD. And as for the complaints about the framerate being choppy and the load times... massively overstated. Game ran at a nice 30fps with almost no slowdown (although I didnt pile 10 cars up and send a bazooka missile flying into the center of them), and the very very few load times I encountered were mere seconds. Just ****ing wow, really.
