Competition Rules:
• Competition Method: 5v5, 4v4 or 3v3.

• mr15 format - first side to 16 rounds wins or 15 all for a draw.

• Standard war settings: 1min 45sec round timer, 15sec buytime, forcecam's, ff, 35 c4timer, no shields.

• All players must use 32 bit.

• Each player is allowed to buy a maximum of one HE, one Smoke and two Flash grenades per round.

• You are allocated a team name and side once the game is full.

• In the case of a player(s) dropping or needing to be replaced from the game:
If the incident occurs within 4 rounds of starting either CT or T, the side will restart.
If it occurs after that, just return as quickly as possible or if this is not possible the Admin of the game will attempt to replace the player ASAP.
It remains up to the discretion of the Admin as to whether they replace or not.
In the case of pure bedlam (players dropping/lagging all over the place), it is up to the Admin's discretion to cancel/restart the match. Please accept the decision, we are trying to make it enjoyable for all, and losing because you have 1 lagger on your team and 1 dropped isn't fun.
In the case that a replacement is needed the admin may change the mp_freezetime to 60 seconds so another player can be found without wasting time in the match.

• A draw will remain a draw, no tiebreakers.

• Maps will be voted from:
de_dust2, de_cbble, de_nuke, de_aztec, de_train, de_prodigy, de_inferno
3v3, 4v4 additional: de_dust, de_vertigo
5v5 additional: de_cpl_mill, de_cpl_fire, de_comrade_3rdroute, de_cpl_strike, de_forge, de_tuscan, de_russka

• This is not a pug, please ensure that you play to the best of your ability (this includes not trying to knife people when you can easily shoot them). Unlike pugs we do not need people to mass-advertise the channel as the people that will join because of this will often be under the impression that this is a pug. We reserve the right to remove people who do this. All games are stated on this site, that's how the teams are formed, so please consider the other players so things stay fair for them too.

• If you don't want to play, don't play. This includes not playing a map that has been voted by the majority. Yes, Vertigo IS a map choice, and WILL get voted on occasion. If you decide you cant live with this, please don't join in the first place.

• Please make sure you stay focused on the game without going AFK, alt-tabbing, making phone calls, talking on IRC, listening to music, etc, it just causes you to miss the buy time which disadvantages your team. If do these things you run the risk of being replaced or banned. If a problem arises in the game only the admins and admin helpers are allowed to alt-tab.

• Make sure that when you join you are able to play out the full game. If there is a chance that you will have to leave during the game, don't join.

• If an admin asks you to do something (eg. change your nick to the same as irc, change tag to match your team-mates, change your rates, etc.) please do it speedily and without complaint.

• It is the responsibility of the player to communicate with the admin when there is a difficulty either regarding them joining the server (including a delay in joining the server) or an unexpected departure from the server. This should be done in PM to the admin (in irc) or communicated directly to the admin when both of you are alive or dead (in the server, preferably more than once).

• We stress to players that if there are multiple people using their machine that they keep their 'identities' completely separate. Not only can this affect the integrity of the stats when people play under incorrect accounts (ie. only one person is to play under each stats entry) but it adds to the complexity admins face when they need to remove people's access from the comp. Sharing STEAMIDs is one such example. If we cannot be satisfied that people using similar accounts (eg. STEAMIDs, IRC info, etc.) are in fact separate people, we reserve the right to remove access to all linked accounts when one user gets in trouble.

• Most important of all, have fun. Sportsmanship is the name of the game. If you are un-sportsmanship like, expect to be come down on hard.

In-game Rules:
• No cheating, simple as that. You know not to do it and if you do your access will be removed from the comp and other iPrimus services.

• No retrying mid-game to gain an advantage over the opposing team (to get extra money, etc)

• Throwing grenades over the walls in de_dust2, de_cpl_mill and de_inferno is allowed.

• No usage of other known exploits. You know what they are - Flash Box bugs, silent planting, silent running, the usual. Just don't do it. If you do it by accident, you will receive a warning. If you do it on purpose, a disqualification will result, and you could be barred from the competition.

• The server rates are locked between the following: cl_cmdrate 71-100, cl_updaterate 71-100, rate 15000-20000. If your connection can not handle these settings, don't join.

• Don't swap teams until the entire 15 rounds of a half have been played.

Global Behavior Guidelines:
On the servers, forum and IRC channels we are trying to create a friendly environment for people to participate in. The following are guidelines to help to maintain that environment.

• Do not abuse people excessively. Some things said in the heat of the moment will be forgotten, but if taken to excess, it will be dealt with by an admin.

• Excessive spamming of text can result in a temporary loss of access to the channel(s).

• Displaying links to sites related to either online gaming cheats, or general hacking sites, will result in your access to the channel revoked.

• Sexual harassment or racism of any kind will not be tolerated.

• The channels/servers are not to be used for warez, cracks, mp3 distribution or any other distribution of copyrighted material without permission. Do not post asking for places to download any of these things, nor post links to sites that distribute any of the things listed.

• Posting pornographic pictures or sexually explicit material is not allowed. This also includes links that have pornographic pop ups and ads on them.

• Personal attacks of any kind are not acceptable in the channels/servers. You are entitled to disagree with someones opinion, but if you outright flame them, you may find that your access to the channels/servers is revoked.

• In IRC (both in the channel and in PM) please refrain from prompting admins to 'do their duty' whether that be starting a game, doing a !dellast, etc. It becomes immensely annyoing as the admins are quite aware that they can do these things when they deem it appropriate and able to do so. We are also aware of a myriad of statistics regarding the activity of individual admins and the comp as a whole and don't need 'reminding' in IRC.

• Cheat accusations or insinuations made anywhere except in a private message to an admin will not be tolerated. If you decide to make a 'joke' about it then be aware that an admin may not see it as such and may still take action.

• We also reserve the right to take action against any user who breaks any of the rules of the GameSurge IRC network, which hosts our IRC channel or causes us to be in breach of the Channel Registration Guidelines.

Please note that the rules can change without notice. When they do change we will endeavour to inform you of such changes.
